Feb. 2015: 355 ml bottle, as Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.0%. Black colour, low and creamy beige head. Dryish roasty aroma, notes of coffee, hints of woodwork, cocoa and liquorice. Low carbonation. Medium dry and very roasty flavour with a little lactose sweetness present, notes of strong coffee, a little dark chocolate and liquorice. Should not be drunk ice cold, cellar temperature is better.

Can, 0.473l. Aroma of roasted malt, milk chocolate and vanilla. Pours pitch black color with thick creamy cappuccino-like head and good lacing. Taste starts with medium sweet richly roasted malt and chocolate, follows by vanilla, nuts and wood with earthy note, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is average grassy bitter. Medium body, creamy texture and soft carbonation in palate. Definitely not a left hander…

47cl Blik van Beer Republic. Zwarte kleur, romige beige kraag. Lichte geur en smaak van koffie, stikstof, cacao, hint van vanille, gebrande mout, wat mokka, bittere finish. Lichte body, glad mondgevoel. Simpele en toegankelijke stout, perfect uitgevoerd, niet opzienbarend.

Can from Beer Republic. Cloudy black, stable, foamy, beige head. Aroma of cold mocha, coffee bean, fondant, toast, tobacco, prune, chestnut. Taste has sweetish fig & apple in a toasty, dark-chocolatey, nutty malt body with bitter cold coffee edge. Herbal hoppy finish, lingering coffee & tobacco, gently creamy. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Very gentle, balanced Milk Stout.

Black beer, light tan head. Smells sweet and malty. Flavour has the malt too, cream, coffee, a little toasty sugar, some vanilla and all with that lovely nitro smoothness. Not as much aftertaste as you might hope for but this is a lovely, balanced stout you could happily sink a few of.

Lovely looking beer, black with a creamy tan head and a delicious milk chocolate aroma, with hints of caramel. Velvety smooth and creamy, with milk chocolate dominating and a hint of sweet berry fruit lurking underneath
