Pours virtually black with a light brown head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, burnt toast, hints of alcohol. Taste is bitter with strong roasted notes and a very light berry twang. A bit of raw alcohol on the finish. Okay, but there are a lot of better ones out there.

Smooth and intense roasted beginning. Fresh and slightly sticky with lots of roasted coffee, espresso and dark chocolate malty. Very dry with a nice bitterness between smooth coffee-chocolate and roast. Long intense sticky dry bitter aftertaste, very great and deep, roasted coffee chocolate malty aftertaste. Voluminous rich and intense. Great stuff!

Buddel: Literally black, small loose and tanned head; moderate to solid bitter-sweet aroma of roasted malt,ashes,caramel with traces of freshly ground coffee; solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, nearly soft; longer and lingering dryish coffeeish and roasty-fruity finish. A nice Imperial Stout from a country without an empire...

Intensiver Malzantrunk mit Aromen von Kaffee, weiche aber steigende Bitternoten. Intensiv röstig, angenehme milde Süße, die Schokoladennoten steigen an. Bittere Espresso Noten im Mittelteil, getrocknete Früchte. Langer Nachhall, in dem der Hopfen neben der Malzigkeit eine wichtige Rolle spielt. 13/13/12/12/11/12

Bottle. Black, darkest brown head i have encountered so far. Quite spicy aroma - licorice, roast, slightly farty nettles. Medium full, dry sparkly body. Chocolate, roast, licorice, coriander seeds, metallic notes, quite herbal hop notes. Very quick dark chocolate and salt licoriice finish.

500ml bottle. Jet black colour with huge, thick, creamy, mostly lasting, fairly lacing, brown head. Sweet-ish,. chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of treacle and liquorice, blue grapes, a touch of coffee and vanilla, leather and oak. Taste is intensely roasty dark malty and bitter hoppy, underlying sweetness, notes of liquorice and blue grapes, hints of treacle, some chocolate, coffee; slightly oily texture, sticky palate, with its abv on the lower end for an Impy Stout and therefore dangerously drinkable, simultaneously rich and variegated without fatiguing heavyness. Felicitous.

0,5 l bottle shared with Sebastian and Jens at Fisch&Feines 2015, Bremen. Black in the glass, big dark beige head. Heavy nose, fruity and malt. Taste is dark malty, coffie, less fruity, dry. Low berriefruity in the aftertaste. Expected more.

Bottle at THT. Thanks to Beerhunter111 for the Euro local swap trade. Black with big brown head. Lots of roasted notes, fresh coffee, dried berries, cocoa beans, roasted barley, light sweet molasses. Under medium sweet with big roasted bitter finish. Over medium bodied with quite some fine carbonation. Massive roasted notes, quite decent.

Bottle sampled thanks to Maakun. Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of roast, coffee, dark chocolate and caramel. Flavour is light heavy sweet and bitter. Medium to full bodied with a medium thick texture and light moderate carbonation.
