A collaboration with Modern Times Beer + Coffee, this beguiling blend of fresh porter and barrel-aged porter was brewed with ten varieties of malted barley, wheat and oats. Following fermentation, this inky brew rested on bourbon barrel-aged coffee for two days, infusing trace notes of ripe fruit, citrus and rich vanilla.

Mostly fine from a can. Poured dark, had hints if vanilla and coffee. Pretty much ok

Deep, dark brown coloured body with a small, single to perhaps two centimetre tall tan head that fades very fast-fading head that barely covers the top, after a few seconds. Aroma of deep, super roasty malts with a lot of molasses, pitted fruits, caramelised sugars with a pungent bourbon and pure alcohol bite towards the end and very robust. Medium-bodied; Robust earthy and nutty flavours show up front with a lot of pitted fruits and especially molasses and caramelised sugars with a very deep bourbon and alcohol pungency with a nutty and metallic astringency and a hit of yeast and grainy malts at the end, but quite strong. Aftertaste shows a dash of lactose and creaminess with a lot of earthy, nutty and grainy flavours showing some robust and bitter licorice, anise, cloves and a touch of caramelised sugars and molasses in the mix, but the bourbon and woodsie notes are the strongest here at the finish. Overall, a strong and rich malty beer with a ton of sugar and even creamy/lactosey notes with a bunch of both nuts and spices on the finish, but the bourbon, earthy and sweet flavours are the strongest here, but still fairly easy-drinking and thinnish. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Hy-Vee in Omaha (Papillion), Nebraska on 21-January-2020 for US$3,49 sampled at my house here in Washington on the first [not real] snow of the season here in Washington on 31-January-2021, just over a year after purchase.

1 US pint can @ the beer tasting at the end of the world, Chez Sophie, March '20. Thanks Jeremy for muling this back from the US of America. Black appearance, foamy beige head. Big freshly ground coffee nose. Big coffee presence, underlying chocolate. Intense, but drinks well.

16oz can. Pretty awesome stuff. Lots of malt depth. Retains a nice The porter feel. The barrel and beans really work well together, and at 7.5% it remains rather drinkable, less viscous than most beers similar in style. Awesome coffee porter, World Class.

16th March 2020; Monthly Shrewsbury Beer Exchange Gathering at Chez Sophie. US pint can, brought my me from California. Dark, deepest brown body, tanned head. Coffee beans and booze in both the nose and taste, slick, smooth and oily. Liked it.

Can from Tfontana, thanks for the opportunity! Inky black faint garnet at the edges and a creamy mocha head that persists. Peppery coffee with rich smooth roasty chocolate. Light fruit and earth, light spicy tannin barrel notes. Tasty beer.

Roast and some coffee. Light caramel. Good balance, pretty subtle overall. Dark chocolate. Black pour with good head and lacing. Bitter finish with touch of sweetness. Booze very well hidden. Can.
