Bottle: (2017) Deep brown/red, clear with no head. Raspberry, chocolate aroma. Sweet, rich raspberry, dark chocolate malt....caramel. Boozy warmth, but really well-mannered. Amazing....it just OOZES raspberry. Decadent....wonderful

Bottle from a trade. 2014 vintage. The smell has a huge raspberry component, thick and jam like. Flavor is quite amazing; raspberry jam without a ton of sweetness. At this age it has really no alcohol showing. No cough syrup showing at all. Really awesome!

Bottle at Black Christmas 2018
Intense flavour of caramelized fruit, raspberries; expectedly sweet; overall it's almost a candy.
Excellent.

Bottle 2017 (thanks to Weihenweizen for a beer that's been on my want list for well over a decade). Raspberry, chocolate caramel malt, alcohol, and hay aroma. Dark brown with minimal head. Moderately sweet raspberry, chocolate malt, and moderately bitter herbal hay and alcohol flavor. Great body - nicely smooth. A work of art.

Bottle from Toby. Dark amber, ruby tinges. Fruity, jelly jar aroma. Taste is smooth, sweet, berries. Heat comes in late, but pretty gentle.

From Feb 2008
I got this bottle in a trade with hoppymeal. Thanks Derek!
It pours from 187ml bottle(2007) a cloudy brown/amber with a very small head of foam that shrinks to just a ring around the glass almost immediately.
The smell is *very* nice. I get notes of raspberry, vanilla, and some caramel malt...maybe? Hard to tell.
The taste has oodles of raspberry up front followed by a *very* malty base that I'm finding hard to describe as I've never encountered that taste before. I can taste some caramel malt, maybe some butterscotch(?), some kind of tartness probably from the raspberry and wow...this son of a gun is *so* tasty and yeah, the abv is right up there and I can feel the warming but I'm enjoying it. Wow. This one gets better and better with each sip. I'm now grabbing the bottle and pouring in my glass every drop that I can get! I'm serious!
The mouthfeel is silky smooth and it finishes with a raspberry/honey flavour that you just wish would never end. Man, this is a world class brew and I'm so happy to have had a chance to try it. Mucho thanks again to hoppymeal for one fine drinking experience!!

Bottle poured into a snifter showing well filtered light raspberry tinged and sparse white foam. The nose shows pronounced notes of raspberries and cane sugar. The palate is medium bodied and well carbonated. Strong raspberry forwardness with no sweetness. Strong alcoholic bite with a mild bitterness and a very strong resurgence of raspberries on the end.
