Huge brown-red to russet head, gone in seconds over fully hazy purple-brown beer. Overripe cherries, cherryliqueur, hint at lactic acid, chocolate pralines filled with cherry ganache. Again cherryliqueur in the mouth, lending an impression that easily explains the claimed 12% ABV. Sweetish-sourish red fruit with a bitter, dark chocolate-like finish. Rich, voluptuous feel, spritzy carbonation, chewy and thick. Excellent one, Johan!

F: “dark pink” but no real only bubbles. C: dark, non-transparent. A: vinous, cherries, dark woody tones, Tabaco, hint of alcohol. T: 0,33l bottle from De Hopduvel in Gent, cherries, tannins, some smoky tones, woods, hint of sour fruity, earthy dry sour on the palate, medium body, ok carbo, for 12% ABV interesting, I think ageing improve this beer.

Bottle at THT massive thanks to kermis. Dark reddish brown with barely any head. Nice cherries on the nose, but then it happens... Rotten cherries, funk, massive alcohol, rye bread, sour herbs, dishwater. Light sweet with alcoholic bitter finish. Over medium bodied with low carbonation.

02/10/2015 @home - 33cl bottle from the brewery (1 yeard old). Dark red/brown colour with small fading head. Aroma is some malts, cherries. Taste is dark malts (even some light coffee notes), "Kriek à volonté", light sourness, some red wine. Would swear it aged on red wine barrels. Very nice evolution in 1 year.

Bottle @ botteltje Oostende . Pours extremely dark red / to be called dark brown even . Almost like a slightly more red cocoa cola . No head at all . Smell is not intense at all ... Some natural cherries ? Taste is intense, funky cherries . Boozy . very fleshy ending ( which I love ) . Overpowering cherries all over . No real sourness ( this was sold to me as a sour , and I didn’t believe shit of it ... Proves me right ... ) even though it does have a funky aspect too it . This is actually not as bad as i thought it’d be . Slightly bitter, but a very full ending ... Again, for me , this beer is all about the aftertaste . Overcarbonated ( slightly ) rather thin mouthfeel if you know its 12 % , but enjoyable if you drink it blind !
