On Tap at PreFunk Boise Another hazy light yellow pale beige beer from these guys. fine bright white head. Moderately bitter and even with my favorite hops. But not a lot of fresh hop flavor. Clean and crisp but dont love it

Sampled from the tap at the Lomaland location. Pours cloudy light gold with a peach hue and a white head that starts and remains at the edges. Aroma has a good amount of sweet citrus with a light bitterness and some sweet grains underlying. Flavor starts with sweet grains and hay and has a good amount of sweet citrus in the finish with a slight bitterness.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a cloudy orange yellow with small white head. The aroma is tropical fruit and grass. Medium body, juicy hop, pine, grapefruit, light bitterness, very good.

Bottle. Murky amber beer with a cream head. Big grapefruit and light pine aroma. Grapefruit and tropical fruit flavor with earth and light pine. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and tropical fruit linger with pine and earth.

Bottle picked up at Trader Joe’s Monterey. Pours quite cloudy Arnold Palmer, large white creamy head, slow to dissipate leaving clumpy lacing. Aroma is lighter than expected, notes of dank leaves, guava, grapefruit, grassy. Flavor is light sweet, medium bitter, a bit harsh, more on the grassy potty side. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel.

Bottle. It pours a hazy pale orange color with a white head. The aroma is pretty juicy with lots of canteloupe and peach. Minor hints of orange and dank in the background. Soft, bready maltiness. The flavor is similarly juicy but with more orange and peach. Melon notes are still there, but in the background. A little spicy bitterness in the finish, but it’s low for the style. It has a creamy body that accentuates the juiciness of the hop profile. Overall, very much a new school IPA with a hazy light color, low bitterness and fruity hops. It seems like it’s missing something though. It lacks the snappy finish that I usually like in these kind of beers. Enjoyable stuff regardless.

Bomber from the Trader Joe’s in Davis, CA. Pours hazy orange tinged gold with a white head. Just the pour fills the hair with smooth pale stone fruit juice. Mostly prunus types, but room for pear/apple and some melon. Not able to find caramel in the rich fruity aroma. Label claims dank, and that’s a bit of a stretch for the aroma, but ... Med body. Ok. Dank. But fruit dank, not pine herb. It’s almost astringent. It’s very hoppy. Starts a hop burn. Very light malt backbone. Very bitter finish. And the fruit never leaves. This is amazing stuff. TJ’s goes high end craft beer (well they already have, but this is surprising).
