12 ounce can from the Jackson Street Warehouse Pick n Save, Oshkosh, 7/14/19. Clear gold, large fizzy white head, poor retention. Aroma of lemon and berries, some grain. Taste is strawberry lemonade, some pale malt. It's lemonade. Not beer. Meh. But hell, nearly everything is better than natty light, so....

Derivative of the infamous Natural Light, Budweiser's (now AB InBev) reaction to Miller Lite and a principal player in the first wave of light products and specifically 'light beer' in the U.S., back in 1977; I'm sure this version far exceeds the alleged 95 kCal of the original, as it contains - sugared - raspberry lemonade... Sounds like I'm in for a treat here. Anyway, thanks to Morgan and Lauren for the can! Medium thick, snow white, tightly membrane-like lacing, irregularly edged, opening but largely well-retaining head, cristal clear very pale straw blonde robe with almost greenish tinge and lively visible sparkling; its paleness, even for an industrial American adjunct lager, makes it look like a European standard lager diluted with water and the raspberry thing apparently adds no colour at all. Aroma very onedimensional, with indeed completely artificial raspberry aroma being the single dominant factor, reminiscent of the pink raspberry-flavoured 'Fruitella' candy I admittedly enjoyed when I was a kid; not a single trace of 'true' raspberry is to be found, obviously, and apart from that raspberry Fruitella (and perhaps Fanta Raspberry), the only other - vague - impressions are of the ultra-thin and diluted beer underneath, faintly reminiscent of popcorn, damp kitchen cloth and dishwater with a whiff of background iron. In the mouth, that raspberry Fruitella and raspberry Fanta thing dominates again, but rather thinly so, as if to stay true to Natural Light's 'natural' (sic) lightness, often (justly) interpreted as tastelessness by beer people; a sugary sweetness lies in a thin layer over an even thinner 'beer' base, with just your elementary sweetish graininess, feeling diluted with water in itself. Carbonation is - as befits a lemonade - very sharp and lively, a bit coarse even. Ascorbic acidic effects (read: lemonade sourness buried underneath the sweetness) dominate the palate along with the sugar and the bubblegummy, 'fake' raspberry effect, even turning a bit more sourish and even very briefly and faintly herbal (iced tea!) in the end, with a very artificial and superficial character; meanwhile I am really trying hard to find anything even remotely 'beery', but I get no further than that bland, plastery popcorn-like effect you get in these lagers in regular form. The carbonation makes for lingering minerally effects, hops are absolutely undetectable and a vague metallic edge is to be noticed somewhere in the middle. Diluted grain drink with sugary raspberry flavour - that is absolutely all there is to say about this beverage, and that is exactly its intention as well, albeit put a bit differently for commercial reasons. As good as no beer is to be seen here - and this is a beer rating website after all, so impossible to give this even a reasonably high rating - yet that said, as a lemonade, this works fine on a hot summer evening, served ice cold. It's so bland and inoffensive - except perhaps for the sticky sugariness - that I have to paradoxically rate it a bit higher than many of the industrial European Radlers that have become so popular in recent years, simply because the latter went down much less easily. But, as said: hardly any 'beery' aspects at all, consider this a lemonade, drink it ice cold (and quickly without actually savouring), and you may not even be too disappointed. I spent too many words on this little nothing already.

I had two of these on two different days. The first day it was gross, I had been drinking goses and other light beers and this kind of nasty strawberry lemonade natty light just hit all the wrong marks for me. Second day it was the first thing I had, and it wasn't half bad. Not great by any stretch of the imagination, but not terrible. Tastes like Natty light with some weak lemonade and strawberries to cover up everything just enough.

Can shared by Kyle, thanks! Pours a clear straw yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has strawberry and lemon with corn underlying. Flavor has a lemon and strawberry combination with a touch of corn backing.

16 oz. can from a gas station. Pours a crystal clear very light gold color (SRM 3) with a small white head and fair retention. Light lacing. Fake strawberry aroma. Tastes like club soda and light beer mixed together with some artificial strawberry and lemon flavoring added. Drinks like a soda. Very light and watery body. Crisp mouthfeel. Too artificial tasting.

12oz can thanks to Steve pours out pale straw color topped with a fizzy head. Nose is big sweet pink lemonade and a touch of grain. Taste is more of the sweet artificial flavor this will crush with hipsters.

Strawberry lemonade aroma with a hint of malt aroma. Pale yellow with giant white head. Moderately sweet strawberry lemonade, light malt with mild hay bitterness. Light body. The strawberry lemonade flavor hides most of the Natty Light flavor. Third place this time.

Can shared at Lucky Bamboo. Pours a clear gold with a small bit of fizzy white head. Light artificial strawberry and grapefruit aromas. Sweet corn syrup and grapefruit on the palate. Alcohol comes out a bit as it warms. Thin and sweet. Not as good as a chu-hai.

Kroger Can, where else? Pours clear pale gold with a white head. Aroma is immediate artificial strawberry... over the top artificial, but not altogether offensive. Flavor is... well shit. Artificial strawberry, light paper, tonic water. It's not as bad as I imagined. If you like somewhat sweet, fruity alcoholic beverages you can't go wrong... but it's not good.
