EB Brewskival 2018

Light creamy orange pour, cloudy a bit. looks somewhat flat. Tart rhubarb nose, some funk and acidity. Tastes tart, chalky a bit, acidic and refreshing. Good acidity, herbal and somewhat medicinal perhaps. Wild. Good.

8-3-8-4-16 Bottle, vintage 2018, shared with Inbreak and friends. Pours clear yellow, with a small, rocky head. Aroma is tart yeasty notes of hay and farmhouse, as well as fruity bretty notes of citrus peel and berries. Medium to full body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is tart fruity notes of apples, musty fruit peel, currants, and wine grapes, as well as citrusy brett and farmyard notes. Dry finish.

Keg at the brewdog AGM 2019. A light hazed mid orange coloured pour with a halo of white head. Aroma is creamy, toffee, vanilla, wotthers original. Butter milk. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, tangy, lactose, sour milk, lime and lemon sour,, little pithy citrus. Palate is semi sweet, sour. Highish carbonation.. Sour, tangy, sour apricot. Nice.

Bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a clearish gold with a finger of white foam that lingers. Lemon, horseblanket and tart pomegranate on the nose. More of the same on the palate with some pomegranate seed astringency and more lemon and horseblanket. A bit of straw and crackery pilsner malt crispiness. Tart but not overly acidic.

Keg at BD AGM. It pour clear golden with a medium white head. The aroma is soft, red berry, red fruits, pomegranate, candy, tangy, sherbet, sour candy and red apple. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, zingy, puckering, pomegranate, lemon sherbet, passion fruit, tangy, light acidity, puckering, cranberry and refreshers with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Bright and spritzy. Fun.

Nice fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head, hazy. Aroma is slightly dry sour-ish, oak, hay, flowers, fruit stones, apple cores, minerals, sawdust, grass, weeds, soda powder, hints of cellar and popcorn. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish fruity, soda powder, sour fruits, oak, apple cores, unripe berries, fruit salt, mild vinegar, grass, flowers, fruit stones, lemon. Medium bitterness, slightly dry sour-ish fruity mouthfeel. Nice.

(750ml bottle from Mikkeller Webshop) Pours lightly hazy dark gold with a small rapidly fizzing white head. Aroma of rather sour citrus, tart apples, floral pomegranate, physalis, Bretty sweat and horseblanket funk, touch of rotting fruit, souring white wine. Complex. Flavour is quite high but not bracing sour, again lead by lemon, grapefruit, pomegranate, sour apples; quite some perfumed florals from the pomegrante. Acidity is mostly lactic with some cider/wine vinegar as well. Moderate sweaty barnyard funk. Semi-dry pomegranate-laden finish with some cereal malts, hay, lingering sour citrus. Medium bodied, with nice effervescent carbonation. The pomegranate here is quite prominent given that there's no colour in the beer; when I poured it I was expecting quite a weak character. On the edge of too sour for my tastes but nice complexity pulls me in, especially given that it's seen no oak. A solid brew from Speciation.
