A monstrously big black ale aged for 4 months in eight year old Woodford Reserve Bourbon barrels. Flavors of vanilla, coconut, chocolate, coffee, cherry and bourbon are matched by the warming effect of the brew.

On tap at Haymarket, pours jet black with a small dark brown head. Aroma reveals a nice earthy roasted malt character partially imparted by the mushrooms, with elegant bourbon barrels. Flavour is ridiculously intense, with lots of bourbon, intense roast, and lots of mushrooms. Nothing subtle about this - this is a complete palate-wrecker. Good, but quite harsh.

32oz growler pours with a deep dark black body that supports a mocha colored head. The aroma offers up chocolate brownie, spicy black strap molasses, chocolate and then some heat from the boozy barrel treatment. The taste delivers rich chocolate, dark roasted malts, spicy oak barrel, spicy black strap molasses, and then smooth sweet Bourbon barrel notes. Solid rich brew. Terrific sipper.

On tap at Haymarket. Black with a minimal tan head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate and some oak. Similar taste. Sweet and tasty. A "dessert beer".

GABF 2014. Pours a deep brown appearance with a slightly thin brown head. A little on the boozy side but I guess that’s expected for the 13% boost. Dark chocolate, caramel, a bit of coconut. Almost like German Chocolate cake. Nice fucken beer but not as good as the Templeton release a few years back
