Brewed with Dark Matter Coffee, Big Hugs lives in the in-between place found above everyday stout and comfortably below the decadence of extreme gravity dessert stout. An Imperial Drinking Stout mindfully groomed for pint glasses.

On tap. Poured black with a creamy light brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was full of both roasted malts and coffee with a bit of dark chocolate underlying. Flavor began with roasted malts but was joined by a bit of an overwhelming espresso note that led to a very strong one note finish.

courtesy of homebrew311 pours dark brown, mocha head. aroma, nice coffee roast, chocolate malts and touch of mocha. flavors, bitter coffee, chocolate malts, with some herbal notes of hops. As the beer warms up, the roast becomes more apparent, chocolate/mocha become a tad thicker on the palate and the beer keeps a small lingering coffee/chocolate bitterness. Bold malty notes, too bad the bitter side isn’t really doing it for me, a great beer none the less.
