From Amstein, best before in 2024. Time to drink it on sunday, coming back from Paris. A right stout rather a dry stout than a baltic, full body, roasty malt, a bit fruity and smocked, note of coffee, bitter, rather drt, a bit sweet, good one, note so sweet for a baltic stout, rather brewed on the American way.

Tiefschwarze Farbe; cremig-dichte Schaumkrone.

330ml bottle. Pours jet black with a medium head. Aroma is dusty, woody, beefy roast. Taste has beefy roast and blackcurrant to start. Beefy, yeasty roast finish.

Bottle. Clear dark brown, almost black body with a big, dense, creamy beige head. Looks fantastic. Nice aroma of smooth dark malt, toast and dry fruit. Flavor is quite sweet, dark malt, coffee, dark chocolate nice roast. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. Nice, pleasant and a god sample of the style.

Bottle at home. Has a weird and unpleasant funky smell you just do not want to fight off when pouring a glass of Stout. Aroma is smoked malt, big ash, charcoal, roast, some liquorice, sourish coffee, some chocolate, slight hint of fruits. Flavour is light sourish coffee and moderate bitterness. Body is medium. Weird beer, so much unpleasant ash and coal, it’s like they brewed this beer from the charred remains of some poor soul sacrificed to the Lord of Light.

Bottle that Anna picked up we've been busy cooking and have made Spinach and Ricotta Lasagne with Pine Nuts for tomorrows tea and had Moqueca, (Brazilian fish stew) tonight, Friday 8th March 2024. Listening to ByteFM again, it's a Hamburg based alternative radio station, and it's excellent. Pours dark brown with a mid sized beige head, typical toasty and toasty notes with some chocolate and coffee notes. There is a little dark sticky fruit, the chocolate and coffee show again.
