Another huge IPA knocking you out with a four-hop blend of Chinook, Simcoe, Amarillo, and Crystal hops. This imperial IPA clocks in at 100 IBUs and 11% ABV, making it just a bit bigger than our unsessionable, and certainly the kind of beer that you'll need just one of. Toasted malt flavors lurking behind massive levels of hop bitterness and flavor with a punch of of hop aroma reminiscent of fresh citrus rind.

Poured from can thanks Airforcehops. Hazy golden color with a thin white head. Aromas of pine wheat and citrus. Taste is sweet bready malty with a nice hop lingering finish.

12 oz can. Hazy golden straw color with lasting head. Aroma is light pine, light tropical fruit and a good amount of sweet pale malts.

Flavor shows fruit forward with a nice underlying pine. This can is about 2 weeks old and it’s already getting on the edge of to sweet. The lingering pine in the finish saves it but my guessing is this will turn overly sweet in a short amount of time. After the swallow a light alcohol note can be found as well. Not a majorly distracting considering the 11 %. Texture is kind of chewy / Bready with moderate carbonation level. Good, and as of right now it’s balanced but don’t let this sit for any amount of time.

Can thanks to Adam! Pours a hazy amber gold with a tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has notes of grass and a bit of resin with a sweet grain backbone. Flavor has a combination of grass and resin with a good amount of sweet grains and a hint of bitter citrus.

Can at State and Lake, 6/26/15, 500th Rating of 2015!
Big hop aroma, lots of grapefruit/citrus along with some pine. The flavor doesn't quite live up, with some a lot of malty flavor and a big bitterness also having some slightly unpleasant alcohol and other flavors. Fairly full bodied as well, with the burn hurting the drinkability a touch. Thought this was a decent DIPA, but it came off too hot for me and didn't feel quite well rounded enough to get a better score than this.
