The beer. The 'Bot. The legend. This sought-after Double IPA packs in a whole mess of hops in order to churn out a bombastic citrus taste full of orange peel, mildly dank whiffs of pine, and a deceptively easy-flowing flavor. There's just enough haze in this one to satisfy the "Hops Heads" while it's not to bitter/crazy for first-timers to enjoy this fruity brew.

Pours amber with a huge white head. Aroma of citra, sincoe hops. Taste has melon, guava. Soft hop mellow on the tongue, lingering simcoe elements. Lives up to the hype.

Can pour into shaker pint glass. Appearance is hazy, dark yellow with mild sparkle, finger-width off-white foamy head. Aroma is initial dominant floral-fruity mix, with background malts and resin. Taste is early fruity-floral mix while toward the end more grapefruit and pine, light resin. Palate is light-to-medium with thin texture, soft-to-average carbonation and mild bittersweet finish as late taste of grapefruit/pine. Overall, well balanced and not overly bitter. Nice complexity. It changed character from initial floral nature as the beer warmed.

At the source: light orange with a white head. Aroma is grapefruit, resin, pine, and all that standard dipa stuff. Nice sharp hoppiness. Kind of lightly sweet. Lingering aftertaste for quite a while. Hefty but drinkable. Pretty nice.

Can @ home. Hazy yellow to light orange color, medium sized white to off-white head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is lightly malts, lovely fruity, grapefruit, citrus, slightly lime. Taste lightly malts, fruityness, grapefruit, citrus, again slightly lime, moderately bitter. Nice fruit bitter finish. Medium body and carbonation. Not a typical Double IPA imo, but a quite pleasant hoppy beer.
