If we had a frontman to our band of beers, it would be our Southern Wit. A Tennessee native with a charasmatic, citrusy way of introducing itself, this unfiltered Belgian white ale packs venues with its high notes of tangerine, pear and honey!

Bottle. Nice version of this style. Slightly cloudy gold. Aroma and taste are light, slight spice and fruit. Nice lake beer.

Decent wit, modest notes of clove, grass, vanilla, honey, and yeast, with apple and lemon coming from the yeast and a dry, floral finish. Drinkable, if not a standout in the style.

Sampled from a bottle this beer poured a hazy bright yellow gold color with a large foamy yellow-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was musty and perfumey with a strong coriander presence. The flavor was musty and dusty with coriander, phenol and a bit of sourness underneath. Medium length finish. Medium body.

On tap at Tennessee Brew Works, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma reveals subtle honey, along with light coriander and citrus. Flavour is along the same lines, with light citrus, a hint of coriander and honey, and a dry crackery malt base. Competently brewed, but nothing special.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a glass. Hazy golden with small white head. Aroma is skunk, light/medium body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is coriander, some citrus, some skunk, and some herbal hops.

Bottle at Robert’s Western World in Nashville. The beer pours a slightly hazy pale golden color with a medium white head that burns away quickly to a film. Spotty lacing. Spice, wheat and fruit in the nose. Light body with flavors of floral wheat, coriander and malt. The finish is mildly spicy and wheaty. Average overall.

Bottle from Craft Brewed. Pours a clearish straw with a finger of foam that dissipates quickly. Bitter, herbal edge with coriander abound. Thin, watery, bitter, no complexity. Just not a good wit. No body without much Belgian character.
