Johann Buys a Broat is a Double India Pale Ale that is fermented on our house yeast which produces peach and mango esters. Johann is solely hopped with Citra and fermented on Pineapple & Mandarin Orange. This beer has a huge creamy mouthfeel due to the oats and Madagascar vanilla beans, which round out the beer and give it a Pineapple & Orange creamsicle feel.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to tulip.
Appearance: bright yellow to orange haziness with a thin cap of a little white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: papaya, mango, pineapple and guava notes with some semi-sweet fruity hoppy tones, light clean malts
Flavor: leans to the sweet side initially then tries to blend some bitter character but seems to go back to being sweet - through all the prior noted aromas; mild finish of papaya & mango sweetness
Texture: medium bodied, leaning towards being a sipper, nice low carb, smooth along the tongue
Overall: if this is a true milkshake IPA then I'm all for it, though the other "milkshake IPA's" all have huge creamy smooth notes, this beer seems just smooth which I'm fine with.

16oz can. Poured a hazy/cloudy orange color with a small white head. Aroma was plenty of vitamin C orange citrus notes, floral character. Flavor has a ton of tart tropical fruits, mandarin/tangerine.

Pours a very hazy, golden-orange, with rather smallish head. Aromas of tropical fruit, sour washcloth, and some citrus. There's also a touch of an alcohol-burn odor, although this really isn't noticeable in the flavor. The flavor is quite smooth, with tropical fruit and citrus. Smooth rather than bitter finish. Very tasty.

Pineapple and vanilla dont quite balance like a pina colada would. Hazy orange pour. Bitter finish. Tap at Churchkey.
