100th Hazy IPA (new style definition) rating! Pours a hazy yellow from a can. Faint citrus aroma and flavor. Thin in the mouth. Okay beer.

16 oz. can, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of pithy stone fruits, some dank hops, and biscuity malt. Flavour is fairly dank, with lots of pithy stone fruits, and a little chalk. Chalky yeast, with a dry, dank finish. It's alright, too yeasty for me.

Slight haze, no head. Some overripe fruit on the aroma. There's a light bitterness, but the fruit is kind of the same. Not really doing it for me.

Can pour into nonic pint glass. Appearance is hazy yellow with tons of sparkle finger-width fizzy white head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is musty, dank, citrus, melon and mild coconut. Taste is sweet/tart citrus, melon and mild pineapple and coconut. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with thin frothy texture, lively carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, aroma and taste are a little muted but can is kind of old (4/15/19) so may account for it. A bit overcarbonated and thin.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 7/22/2019. Pours very hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, coconut, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, vanilla, cream, cedar, mint, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn/pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, coconut, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, vanilla, cream, cedar, mint, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn/pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, coconut, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, vanilla, cream, cedar, mint, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn/pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, fairly sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 6.1%. Overall this is a fantastic NEIPA. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth =and easy to drink with mellowly bitter/drying finish; fantastic soft feel. Amazing Mosaic, Citra, Sabro profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and lightly dank/earthy hops; with a perfectly balanced wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing spot on style example.
