An orange beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel, but also some perfumated notes mixes in. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel as well as some dusty hop notes, that gives it a dry slightly bitter end.

Bottle. Sweet fruity (apple/pineapple) aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet fruity malt aroma - hints of pineapple and apple. Moderate body. Decent but not great.

Rerate from bottle: A bit juicier grainy malt, grassy hops, lighty metallic bitterness. Ok. Old rating: Aroma has hayish malt, slight sweet wort and bitter grassy hops. Copper golden, with a lowish foamy head and low visible carbonation. Essentially a Helles with a bit more pronounced malt and bitterhop flavors, the balance is still good though. Solid malt body, but strangely feels a bit thinnish on the palate. This new Superior comes in the series of beers Hacker brings out in swing-top bottles, unfortunately it is not as good as its predecessors, at least not as good as the excellent Animator.

(quite aged sample, rating for the older 7% Bock version, not the current 6%) Pale amber,with greenish shine, thin off-white head. Very nutty, oxydized nose. Dry portwine, if that can be imagined. Dull, nutty tasting beer. Strange butter-like flavour, but not linked to diacetyl. Thinnish texture, but slick, oily mouthfeel. Obviously this beer has aged too much. Which is surprising, annoying even for a 7.0% ABV Bock.
