Schönes rotbraun im Glas. In der Nase deutlich Karamellmalz. Im Trunk setzt sich das fort, malzig, süß, mittig leicht bitter, getreidig, Pinie. Schönes Ding.

Bottle, 5.5%. Clear dark brown colour. Good stable tan head. Fruity aroma, slightly roasted. The flavour is of dark bread at first, turning malty and nicely vinous. Has some oak chip notes, better than I expected.

“Ratsherrn Lumberjack“, vom Faß im Doldenmädel, Berlin-Kreuzberg. - Dunkelrotbraun, klar. - Verblüffend schwache Nase - eigentlich rieche ich nur ein klein wenig zart säuerliche Bitterschokolade. - Antrunk dünn und weich mit blassem dunklen Malz, das durch zarte moosig-muffige Noten und zarte blasse Frucht (rote Johannisbeere) etwas aufgepeppt wird. Im weiteren Verlauf ein wenig Kakao, leicht trocken, zart aschig. Wenig süß, dünn an der Grenze zum Wäßrigen. Eigenartige Note wie von Spinnweben - soll das Faßlagerung sein?! Mild moosig-hopfenherber Abgang mit mild holziger Note. - Gar nicht uninteressant - gefällt mir mit jedem Schluck besser. Aber ein Winterbier stell ich mir doch anders vor, kerniger und wärmend. Das ist eher was für laue Sommerabende ...

Tap at Altes Mädchen. Clear bright claret, golden cream. Caramel roast, vanilla, oxidized grains, spiderwebs/dust, medium light body, dry, light sticky mouthfeel. Caramel, grassy hop and wood chip aftertaste.

Bottle from Craft Beer Store, Hamburg. Hazy dark amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and toffee. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish. 230517

Bottle. Red/brown turning to black. Small head. Aroma of malts and a little bit of hops. Taste is malts, caramell, red berries and some wood. Aftertaste is slightly spicy and sour. Medium carbonation. It’s ok.

0,33 l bottle. Dark red in the glass, one finger beige head. Taste sttarts malty, roasted grain, some wood elements with hints of sourness. Hop present but in the background. Okay.
