Traditional Dortmunder, a tad on the sweet side with a a distinct grainy undertone with hints of toasted bread and a dry, floral finish. Nothing spectacular, nothing overtly memorable, but easy to drink and great for the first UGA game of the season.

Draft at Craft Brewed. Pours a clear gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Lovely bready malt aromas with some faint leafy hops and granola notes. Sweet malt on the palate, with chaffed grain and a wheatberry note. Medium bitterness on the finish with some light pepper. --- Beer merged from original tick of Riegele Commerzienrat Riegele Privat on 02 Aug 2018 at 01:36 - Score: 7

330 ml bottle into lager glass; no bottle dating, but was just released locally this week. Pours crystal clear medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and rocky white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, pepper, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance of bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of Aromas of cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, pepper, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, pepper, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great robustness and balance of bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.2%. Overall this is an excellent Dortmunder lager style. All around great robustness and balance of bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Clean pils malts and perfectly balanced noble hops. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. No complaints.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Poured twice into an old Veltins badged 0.2 litre tulip at home on 15th March 2018. Clear, clean and bright pours, golden in colour, white head that tried to hang around but failed both times. Floral aroma, but very little of anything really, you have to imagine there is a nose to the beer. Crisp feel to the brew, some light malts vie with even less hops to give a weak tasting semi-sweet, semi-boring beer. Not impressed.

Bottle. Brilliantly golden. Dense white head. Aroma: clean malts, spicy hops. Light body. Taste: malty front. Noble hops later. The bitterness is rather low still the hops are well detectable. Nice

Draught at Deep Ellum, 8/19/17.
Clear, bright, sunflower yellow with deep bronze tints and a medium-sized white head showing moderate to moderately-low retention.
Lightlly floral hops mix with sparse, crackery malts and a touch of salinity. Some sourdough bread-like character is apparent and appreciated, but the beer already seems "dry" enough from the nose so I'm not sure what it really adds.
Soft, maybe a bit too much so, with vague floral hops adding a touch of fruitiness as well. Light honey, lots of white bread and light sourdough. Kind of feels sterile/lifeless and the malts are very lackluster, and it finishes thin.
