Gravity cask at the Blue Boar as part of their North Riding TTO. It's a purplish brown/black with a very loose tan head. Unsurprisingly smells of stone fruit; although the rum is less conspicuous, it's certainly detectable in the background. Sharp note of cherry chocolate on the nose as well. Swet taste, maybe a bit unbalanced but not quite sickly, with plummy flavours and an underlying note akin to butter rum Lifesavers. Flat oily body. Normally not a big fan of rum beers but this one hits the spot.

Pours a very dark brown with a reddish tint and a frothy beige head. Aroma is sweet dried fruit, light roasted malts and rum. A moderately sweet fruity taste with sweet malt, rum and Christmas spice flavours with a light dryness in the finish. Very good.
Exactly as advertised!

Cask @ The Grove, Huddersfield. Black with a creamy off-white head. Smells like amarula, tastes like Christmas pudding. It’s milky with some roasted malt flavour.

Cask @ The Cellar, Chester [050916]
Black, thin ruby edges, dense beige head
Aroma of sugar candy, nothing else (!)
Taste of bitter rum, raisin, thin candy sugars, oh this is a huge clash with my palate...uurrrgghhh
Palate - Thin body...very sweet...oh this is awful
Overall - Couldn’t drink this at all, yuck...I’ve had this with rum beers before. Maybe it’s a Marmite beer...probably my palate(!)

Bottle from North Riding BrewPub, Scarborough. Black colour with a tan head. The aroma really hits the rum and raisin, with banana. Taste sweetish with a roasted bitter finish.
