Funk madness

Bottle shared with vestergaard and rasmusott. Traded with preismj. Deep hazy ruby red with a pink thin head that fizzes away right after pouring. Settles with no head at all. This beer looks amazing. Aromas of tart raspberry, sweet notes of raspberry jam, some yeasty, funky notes. Some floral wine-like notes. Taste is medium tart up front, some sweet matured raspberries followed by some funky stale/hay-like notes in the finish. Can’t tell if it’s the oak that made this beer so damn good, but damn.. damn son, damn.

Bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo. Thanks Andrew! Pours a deep burgundy red with a small bit of off-white pink foam that lingers as a ring around the glass edge. Lovely raspberry driven nose with some seed and skin and light balsamic notes as it warms. Oak with some light cream notes on the palate but raspberry drives the palate as well. Some mild seed astringency, good acidity and carbonation as well. Smooth and round with a refreshing finish. Raspberry flesh and skin coat the palate on the finish. Delicious.

Delicious delicious raspberry cheese. Needs more time but still insanity greatness. Or maybe my tongue is too burnt. But these things double in flavor every year.

On tap @Ma che siete venuti a fà (Rome). Color rubino/porpora, con schiuma bianco/violacea intensa. Al naso note di lamponi, frutta rossa, limone, mentuccia, lattica. In bocca è acida fruttata decisa, intensa, lunga e persistente. Corpo medio-alto, carbonazione media. Un'esperienza.
