Brewed to a classic recipe using 100% Belgian Pilsner malt, German Hallertau Mittelfruh hops and a traditional Belgian yeast strain. This pale golden beer is bitter on the palate with a noble lemony hop character which carries through to a long finish.

Tap. Hazy golden colorwith white head. Aroma is herbal, spices, spicy yeast, some spice that is overdone, can't quite place it. Taste is herbs, rosemary, dough, peppery yeast. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Fun, but a bit too mealy on the tongue.

330ml bottle. Hazy, orangey golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity and spicy, yeasty aroma, sweet-ish, slightly biscuity and bready malty background, hints of apricot, mirabelle, a touch of orange zest. Taste is initially slightly dry, fruity and spicy yeasty, hints of apricot, slightly bready, malty basis with some residual sweetness, later minimally citrusy hoppy with increasing bitterness; lingering bitter finish with suppressed fruitiness.

330ml bottle at home. Pours clear mid golden with a small white head. Aroma: sweet-ish, yeasty, lemon, tangerine, floral, grass, banana esters. Taste: light sweet, bready malts, lots of Belgian yeast funk, heavy banana esters, light citrus, peel. Light to medium body, fine carb. Dry, light bitter finish. Nicely Belgian

Almost clear pale amber colour, small frothy off-white head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Aroma pale malts, tangerine, orange, hint of banana, Belgian yeast. Taste medium sweet and light to medium bitter, malty, light lemon, yeast, cloves. Malty sweetbitter aftertaste has more bitterness, spicy notes. Medium body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation, not really an IPA, easy to drink.

Hazy orange - gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and has reasonable fine carbonation. Sweet malts and sweet banana esters. Candy fruits. Light yeasty bitterness. Mild floralness. Light and ripe orange and mango. Light finish. Tasty enough but not really pulling off the ’IPA’ part of the ’Belgian IPA’ description.

330ml Bottle (Bookshop Alehouse, Southampton) - Amber in colour. Biscuity malt, yoghurt, peach and citrus in the aroma. Peach, dried apricot, yoghurt, sultanas and banana in the taste. I prefer this kind of beer with New World hops but this works quite well.
