Cask @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Black with a creamy-frothy light-brown head. It has a heavy nutty nose with some chocolate in its flavour. Its texture feels thin for its strength and it has a mildly roasted aftertaste.

440ml can. Pours jet black with a medium head. Aroma is chocolate, caramel and peanut. Taste has some chocolate to start and peanut on the finish. A bit watery compared to the sniff.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby Pours jet black with no head. The most prominent aroma is salted peanuts, but there’s also chocolate . Peanuts and chocolate again in the mouth, but also hints of doughnut and vanilla. The whole combination is rather sweet, but with an alcoholic strength. Finish is sweet and boozy too. Very nice for sipping, but not sure I’d want another !

17/01/2020. Cask at the 11th Elysian Winter Beer Festival. Pours very dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is very nutty but its more hazelnut nutella than peanut butter, with dark chocolate, roasted malt, caramel and sugared ring doughnut. Medium plus sweetness, light to moderate roasted bitterness. Towards being full bodied, with a slick texture, and soft to flat carbonation. Slight sour fruit edge comes through to finish.

Cask at the Sportsman, Huddersfield, 04/10/19. Black with a well presented tan cap that stays for the show. Nose is chocolate, nutty, sweet malts, subtle enough peanut butter, brown sugars. Taste comprises cocoa powder, brown sugar melt, peanut butter spread, light roast, toffee, sweet kiss. Medium bodied with bite, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a light boost. Decent enough fun impy and holds its own very well for high boost cask but is just a touch overly sweet for my liking.

Bottle thanks to the brewer, shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours black with a thin tan head. Strong peanut butter aromas, caramel biscuit. Digestives. Taste is roasted bitter, nutty, dark chocolate. Slightly thin, if I had any criticism.
