Cask-conditioned at the Lime Kiln, Bristol 2/5/2017. Dark brown in colour, with a thin, beige, head. Lots of peanut character, milk chocolate, caramel, leafy hops and some warming alcohol in the finish. A beer for sipping, but very enjoyable nonetheless.

Opaque dark brown beer, patchy tan head. Palate is light, fairlt dry and has modest carbonation. Thin but flavoursome dark malts. Tangy fruity dark chocolate. Vague nuts. Mildt bitterness. Dry finish. A tasty Impy but the palate is a bit thin and dry for me.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Nearly black. Slim ring of tan head. Nose has Star Bar chocolate nailed on. Salted peanut. Caramel. Milk chocolate. Some fudge. Some vanilla. Uncanny likeness going on here. Taste is nutty, chocolatey sweet. Some saltiness. Some cocoa bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Very soft carbonation. Sweet and sticky, with a roasted malt bitterness evening things out nicely, on the finish. Never imagined this would be my cup of tea, but I’ve been proved wrong. Lovely beer.
