Het Tempelier bier draagt de naam van de ridder- orde van vroeger. Eerst werd dit bier gebrouwen door brouwerij de Sleutel uit Betekom. Nadat deze hiermee gestopt is, verdween het bier voor een tijd. Nadat het vrijgegeven werd heeft Brouwerij Corsendonk het overgenomen en gelanceerd in 2009. Een goudkoperkleurig, droog en zacht bier van hoge gisting met hergisting op de fles.

Bottle @ ’t Brugs Beertje. Hazy amber with a big and lasting off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, fruity and moderate spicy. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. This was served in the original glass, which is really beautiful. 230712

Sep 2011: Dumpy 33cl brown bottle, poured into a Palm badged tulip. Good mid-amber body, clear, bright and clean looking, on top a huge white crown of bubbles. The smells are all about malty molasses and Belgian yeasts, you know instantly this is a Belgian beer: how do they do that? The taste/flavours also are all around the malts and yeasts, the hops, as so often with Belgian brews, is of secondary importance, needed, but not prominent. On the sweet side but not overly so, this is an easy drinking Belgian beer with it’s alcohol content well contained and concealed. The Corsendonk people know what sells, this is a beer that fits the bill completely.

Hazy brown amber colour, white head. Very beautiful glass. Quite light aroma, malty, light caramel, slight metallic notes. Flavour light sweet, not very pronounced. Finish malty, quite bitter tones.

Bottle, 6%. Nicely fruity aroma, not expected from a Belgian macro. Clear dark copper colour. Big stable rocky off-white head. The flavour is slightly fruity with a chalky and watery finish. Quite clean for a Belgian.

330mL bottle, split with manuchampions, Matts_Property and uhlan, pours a murky orangey amber with a small beige head. Aroma is quite musty, with leather, band-aids, subtle spices and toasted bread. Flavour is leathery and spicy, with bready malts and a mild tartness, also a bit medicinal. Pretty unspectacular and a bit off-putting, but drinkable.

Bottle @ Berts Bierhuis, Utrecht. Pours dark golden with a frothy slowly settling head. Fruit, yeast, a bit of pepper and prickling alcohol. Full bodied. Dry end. Solid Belgian Ale.

Bouteille: Deep golden to copper coloured, mid-sized, very stable creamy off-.white head; light to moderate orangey-fruity nose with a distinctive hoppy background; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, relatively soft; slightly lingering orangey-bitter finish. Nothing wrong with it.......

Bought in Israel - Holy Land connection I guess? Copper-bronze. The aroma is toasty, from both malt and yeast. Has some biscuity malts, but is fairly simple overall. Straightforward, an ok Belgian. Nothing wrong with it.
