Amber ale launched for the 500th birthday of the town of Oud-Turnhout. Yellowish white, coarse, not very stable head over a coppery amber beer, clear. Aroma of walnuts, caramel, white pepper, tomato, pear, iron, grass, but also cardboard or old newspapers, quite strong even, and off-putting. Dry fruity onset, caramelly and nutty malts, light spicy hints, malt sweetness, dryish finish, metallic with rather thin structure due to insufficient hoppiness. Unbalanced, but I’m willing to re-rate this as the sample I tasted, was one of the first brews, from tap at one of Ben Vinken’s Bierpassieweekends.

Hazy amber beer, lacing head. Aroma: grains, brown sugar, fruit. Medium body. Sweet taste. Caramel finish. Good again with Belgian stuff.

Amber colour, white foam. Medium carbonation. Sweet aroma with notes of caramel. Light hoppy finish. Easy drinkable but very weak. Thin body. Nothing special.

Bottled 330ml. -from Auchan Budaörs. Dark golden/amber coloured, medium sized off-white head, mild yeasty fruity nose. Sweet malty, fruity and yeasty with intensive notes of coriander and touch of alcohol in the finish. Also some light caramel presence. Solid one.

Bottle, best before 2015-
Amber color, hazy, with generous, persistent, compact head. The aroma is a bit deceptive, vulgar; toasted and biscuity malts with a light puckery accent. Smooth and dry mouthfeel, rather weak, as weak is the malt flavor, although it carries traces of hay and cereals; it has a moderate Belgian Ale yeast character; low bitterness, hence a short final.
Nothing bad, just boring.

Hazy pale amber colour, good frothy off-white head, mostly lasting, reduces to layer with yeast islets. Aroma sweet malty, caramel, fruit syrup, apricot, lemon, yeasty, spicy, bit coriander, some alcohol. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, little sour touch. Medium to full body, oily texture, finish is dry sweetbitter, spicy notes, very nice.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein leicht trübes bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, malzig süß, leicht würzig. Geschmack leicht hefig, fruchtig malzig, Gewürze, blumig.
