Copper Cone Pale Ale is a special offering, aroma rich, pale ale that may vary the hops, malts and even sometime the yeast used. Typically this beer is an “over the top” Pale Ale with a deep copper color and loads of dry hopping going into each batch. The fresh hop aroma of this beer makes it a stand out. Stronger in alcohol and body than CAPT’N CROMPTON’S PALE ALE and appeals to beer aficionados.

Aroma: The nose has some sweet citrus notes, a little pine hops, and some herbal notes
Appearance: The pour is a rather unclear copper color with a beige head and some spotty lace
Flavor: The taste is medium sweet, with grapefruit, and a strong pine, resin hop presence as well
Palate: The body is medium, it has a moderate carbonation, a somewhat oily body, and a dryish finish
Overall Impression: This was above average from the style. I thought it was a decently balanced brew, leaning toward the hoppy side, and I felt that it worked pretty well. The malt and hop presence are both solid in the pale ale, but it leans hoppy. Another solid offering from Epic.

Draft @ Pizzeria Paradiso - Georgetown, Washington DC. Pours a hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy weak piney aroma. Fruity malty hoppy flavor with hints of caramel. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter finish.

Bomber from Beer Run in Charlottesvilla, VA opened 4/3/11. Pours a slightly hazy orange copper color with a very large creamy white head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of leafy, resiny and vegetal hops. The hops seem very fresh. The taste is bitter earthy, vegetal, spicy, herbal and citrus hops with some faint malty notes. Medium bodied. Interesting beer.

Bottle thanks to Douglas, shared with my roommate. Pours a near clear reddish amber with an off-white head that dissipated to the edges and laced slightly. Aroma has a good amount of hops with a combination of grass, pine and earthy citrus. Flavor is similar with some grains in the start with a growing hop note of light pine and a bit of earthiness.

Hazy amber with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of fruity hops with a touch of pine. Sweetish clean malt flavour with fruity and pine hops and a good bitterness

Bottle @ Odense Tasting, May 2011. Thanks to Hallinghansen. Pours cloudy orange with a lasting white head. Pine cones, grapefruit and orange. Very hoppy - not extreme and a tad of sweetness. No cloying malty caramel sweetness makes this a winner. Lovely . .

22oz Bottle Thanks to Sam first release. Pours out a hazy copper/amber topped with a nice head. Aroma was of lemon zest, pine needles, sweetness, and some caramel malts. Taste was as the aroma with a nice hop and malt character. Not over the top a well made APA.

Bomber at Churchkey. My second favorite brew of the Epic launch in DC. Murky brown color, solid off white head with good lacing. Aroma of pure pine resin and Christmas tree. Taste is very bitter from start to finish, with great body. Much more like an IPA than a pale ale, and very pleasantly so.

on tap-pours a light tan head and hazy copper color. Aroma is resin/pine hops, some medium malt. Taste is resin/pine/herbal hop bite with some tannins, 2nd medium malt-roasty.
