Can from Taniguchi. I didn’t expect this can to be such a deep rich brown with a huge fluffy beige head of foam. The aroma is piney hops and toffee biscuits. Medium bodied with a smooth texture. The taste is peppery rye, toffee and bitter pine with some citrus. Nicely balanced.

At the BeerTemple in Amsterdam. Thick, moussy, creamy, yellowish white head over a hazy bronze coloured beer. Aroma of apple peel, smoked meat, hay, orange, hint of caramel; light fruity taste, soft and a bit sweetish, caramelly and later on very toasted maltiness, crisp with a long bitter finish with citrus peel touch and some warming, bourbon-like alcohol. Very solid.

Draught @ Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Aroma has harsh malt, resiny tones and some wood. Also minerals. Palate is low on CO2 but still pleasant. Flavour is strong on woody notes and bready malt. Also berry juice, some minerals, gooseberry bush and hayish tones. And menthol. Not the most typical ASA.

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 25 Feb 2015) Ruby red colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with caramel, red fruit, toffee, orange peel and blood orange. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, red fruit, blood orange and a balanced, spicy bitterness. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Well balanced and tasty. Nice one.
