Award winning Pure Gold is a refreshing, crisp and zesty golden ale, inspired by our noisy farmyard rooster. Wired up a little differently, he crows at Sunset rather than Sunrise which signals the end of another great day brewing and time for a well earnt beer.

Bottle. It pours a clear, golden body under a small, dense, white head. The aroma has citrusy hops with some grapefruit and grass. Pale malts and a touch of caramel and bread. It has a nice bitterness, with flavors of grass, grapefruit and pine cones up front. Bready malts in the back. Medium body, semi-dry and with a pleasant, soft carbonation. Bitter finish with pale malts, grapefruit and a bready touch. An easy drinkable one, and quite tasteful. 140816

Cask @ The Meriden, BHX. Smooth and fresh beginning, easy to drink with a nice sourness in the background. Grain and a nice ale body. Fresh and slightly sweet. The aftertaste is long, smooth with sweetish and sourish hints, grain and malt with a nice slightly bitter ale aftertaste!

0.5l bottle. A light blurry golden looking one this and it has a small bubbly light lacing white top. It smells of diacetyl and thin watery hops. Not sure it's meant to smell like this, cause there is nothing pure or golden about this aroma. A bit better in the taste, no make that much better in the taste. Still, it's definitely nothing to extraordinary this. A mild gentle but definitely present grassy hoppiness with traces of both caramel and what's left after the wort. Light mouthdrying in the finish and aftertaste. Horrible aroma and a fair (dull) flavor profile with a nice hoppy punch. 25.12.2013

500ml bottle from Beer Hawk - Pours a very clear golden colour with a medium fully diminishing white head. Aroma is soft malty/yeasty with notes of flowers, ripe fruits and citrus. Flavour is sweet, fruity and tart. orange, grapes and peaches. Light body, low carbonation. Soft, fruity finish. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Cask handpump at The Bricklayers, Colchester. Light golden colour, slightly off white head. Citrusy, very smooth and easy drinking. Palate probably the high point. Overall didn’t really enjoy this much - I recall having enjoyed it more bottled before, which is unusual.

Cask version - superbly smooth golden ale, very nice in the palate, it matters little that the aroma and taste is low.
