New Zealand Brown Ale. Most beers these days either try to emphasise either the Hop or the Malt character. Kiwi lets the character of both the 3 New Zealand hops and the 6 malts shine through to give a delightfully balanced malty beer that packs big hop flavour and aroma.

Can from Beers Of Europe. Appearance - deep brown with lovely autumnal red chinks. Nose - grainy/yeasty on the nose. Nuts maybe. Taste - nuts, chocolate, but still with a grainy overhang. Palate - medium bodied, a bit challenging. Dry finish. Overall - not one of their best.

440ml can from Hoppily. Poured a murky light brown colour with a short-lived, frothy off-white head. The aroma is nutty malt, light caramel, grassy hops. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a fresh, crisp, light fruity, dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Cask at the Peterborough beer Festival 2018. A nut brown red coloured pour with a lasting beige cap. Aroma is nutty twiggy malts. Liquorice, pine needles. Should be a black ipa. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, singled pine tops, brown sugars, liquorice, burnt cake. Palate is medium bodied, hop oils, moderate carbonation.

Cask @ Crowd of Favours, Leeds. Dark red with a thin, slightly off-white head. Brown malts are fused with some tropical flavours, all of which are quite tasty.

Cask-conditioned at the Phoenix, York 12/11/2017. Deep amber in colour, with a tight, white, head. A sweetish brown ale, with notes of brown sugar, berry fruits and citrus hops, bready malts and a gentle finish. Good.
