Espiga's first recipe exhibits an attractive amber tint with reddish reflections and a creamy ocher foam. With different aromatic nuances of malt, that remember the crust of bread, grain or toasted caramel as well as earthy, floral and herbal. In mouth it presents a light body and moderate carbonation, pronouncing the earthy and bitter character, memories of chocolate and spices. Dry finish and pleasantly bitter.

Pours hazy light orange with a thin, foamy head that soon fades. Aroma is mandarine, caramel. Taste is up front bitter with dry citric notes, a touch metallic, turning increasingly citric moving into the finish. Body is medium with a soft carbonation. Okay.

Shared bottle at RB/HD at Sigmund´s 24.02.17. Hazy peach colour. Foamy, dense and persistent off-white head and lacing. Aroma of dry phenols, citrus, flowers and mint. Bitter flowers in similar taste. More American in taste than English. Dry mouthfeel. Too low drinkability to drink a whole pint.

Flaske delt på RBHD-treff hos Sigmund feb-17: uklar gylden med flott skum. Særegen citrusaroma med urter, gress og blomster. Lett og elegant i smaken, og den lange ettersmaken har en fint bitterhet med mynte. Men English Pale Ale? Med to kraftige amerikanske humler er den mer som en American Pale Ale. Og neppe egnet i et pint-glass.
