Brewed with well water (the original well at the Old Brewery, sunk in 1758, is still in use, with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground); fermented in ‘stone Yorkshire squares’ to create an almost opaque, wonderfully silky and smooth textured ale with a complex medium dry palate and bittersweet finish.

Sort med beige skum som legger seg rundt kanten. Aroma røsted malt vanilje sjokolade jorda. Smak røsted malt vanilje sjokolade. Middels fylde, rund og søtlig.

Olmost black with a light breon head - Roasted malt aroma - malt body with some roasted flavours and some bitterness - Malt finish - This was nice

Bottled. Pours Dark and lots of head. Cocolate and roasted malt aroma & taste. A bit of a bitter finish.

Fles gedeeld door Roelzie. Geprobeerd met Mimi, Rik, Tessa en Guus. Het is een diep donkerbruin bier met een bruinig schuim. Het heeft een aroma van gebrande mout en chocolade. De smaak is gebrand, koffie en wat chocolade.

Aroma: Roasted malt with oats and light fruity notes.
Flavour: Sweet roasted malt with oats and bitter coffee notes. Aftertaste is sweet and bitter.
Colour: Black with a light brown head.

0.355 l bottle from Beerlovers, shared at home. Pours black with no head. Coffee, roasted malts and liquorice in aroma. In taste the same notes appeat accompanied with creamy mouthfeel and surprisngly light body. Not bad at all, but nothing outstanding either.

nice notes of chocolate, and lots of sweetness. nice beige head. mouthfeel is great! slightly bitter finish. very sweet stout. nice stuff

Bottle from Stanislaus Brewskovitch, Zwolle. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, liquorice, some nutty notes, chocolate, and a touch of tobacco. Flavour is sweet with a moderate roasty bitterness. Body is full. Classic old school Sweet Stout, enjoyable.
