Cask @ Gardeners Arms, Norwich. Pours black with an offwhite head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, licorice, dark chocolate. Flavor is light swet, malt, caramel, licorice. Medium body, soft carbonation. 180217

Cask @ Gardeners Arms, Norwich. Hazy very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt and dark chocolate. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and roasted moderate bitter finish. 180217

Flaske (thanks, Cimbasso!), hjemme: brunsvart med rubinrødt skjær og flott beige skum som varer. Deilig aroma med røstet malt, kaffe, mørk karamell og noe bæraktig. Lekker og ganske slank smak, hvor jeg finner sviskeplommer og mørk sjokolade i tillegg. Elegant bitterhet i avslutningen, som er ganske tørr tross sødme-elementene i smaken.

Cask @ White Hart, Todmorden. Black with an off-white bubbly head. Sweet aroma with a bittersweet dark fruity taste.

Cask at the Victoria, Rugby, 17/04/13. Extremely dark mahogony brown with a good sized beige head. Nose is dark malt, light sour fruits, dark toffee, hint of chocolate. Taste comprises dark malt, earthy qualities, black forest gateux, dark fruits. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry in the finish. Ok.

10/2/2013 Cask handpump from The Mark Addy, Salford, Manchester. Black beer with a coffee cream head. Coffee, chocolate aroma, and a hint of liquorice. Updated 18/2/2017 Cask at the Murderers, Norwich. Pours almost black with a small off white head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, veg. Light sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Medium body and sticky texture, carbonation is average to soft.

From the handpump at the Grape and Grain Spring Beer Festival 2012, Crystal Palace. Black pour with a tan head. Coffee, chocolate and vanilla nose. Smoky-roast flavours of chocolate and coffee with the latter dominating. A bit of chocolate ice cream in there too. Malty, dry roast finish. Quite tasty.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 7/03/2011. Jet black with next to no head. Aroma of plain chocolate, black coffee and dark fruits. Easy drinking for the ABV, with plenty more chocolate and a dry finish. Very good.

Cask at the Church Inn, Ludlow, Salop ,24-09-01 Pours black with a creamy head. The aroma is nutty with a light coffee touch. Some creaminess, bit fruity, dark chocolate its a fine stout. A6 A5 F7 P4 OV14 3.6
