Mother Kelly’s. Keg. Cloudy gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth, pretty dry and has decent fine carbonation. Light sourness. Weird sour grassy into very skewed vegetal tropical fruits. Trace of lemon and orange. Smooth dry finish. Thoroughly odd.

Keg at Mother Kelly’s - London. Pours cloudy gold with a creamy, white head. Dry pine in the nose, pithy grapefruit, rindy citrus. Light sweet flavour with sturdy citric tartness, some dry grain, leather, lemon, faint sweat. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Cleansing finish with more citric biter, salt, moderate acidity, mellow leather. Quite, quite refreshing.

On keg. Appearance - pale with a light haze. Nose - tangy lemon and yeast. Bigger citrus notes at the back. Taste - grapefruit and orange underpinned by a lovely sour note. Palate - light bodied with a long dry tangy texture through the middle section that leads through to the long finish. Overall - the tastiest beer of the evening.

Keg at the hanging bat. Pours deep orange, nose is funky, pineapple, orange, taste is quite sour, juicy fruit.

Keg at the Hanging Bat. 5.5 Pours murky gold with a thick white head. Aromas of sour grapes, boiled sweets. Taste is sour, more like a cola cube thing going on. Red fruit. Interesting. Sour finish.
