This dark Weissbier retains its aromatic character thanks to the select choice of Hallertau aroma hops and highest quality Bavarian wheat and dark barley malts.
Its characteristic, distinctive maroon colour is a feast for the eyes. Then there’s the opalescence and fine structure of the yeast turbidity. The perfect complement is provided by the very creamy, fine pored head. This dark Weissbier from the Holy Mountain will delight connoisseurs with a harmonious interplay of fruity odours, above all ripe bananas and pineapple, with undertones of caramel and cocoa.
Andechser Weissbier Dunkel teases the tongue with a delicate tanginess carried by a round, soft body. A light caramel sweetness harmonises well with the fine hoppy bitterness. It concludes on a soft and refreshing note (original extract: 12.5%, abv: 5.0%).

It is a classical product of Bavaria, black and brown color, the taste is like a classical weiss, fruity and aromatic, banana, tasteful, 12.02.18, at Prélaz.

Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to weizen glass.
Appearance: dark mahogany to dark brown color with a four finger khaki foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: banana/clove sweet to spiciness with some cocoa powder, dark fruity tones, caramel scents and a touch of sweet wheat
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to spicy quality; finishes leaning into the sweet tones of banana, cocoa and caramel notes
Texture: medium bodied, sessionable; great smoothness with nothing bothersome anywhere to the tongue; good carb level
Overall: a very enjoyable dunkelweizen I would return to.

Bottled. Dark maroon pour. Shockingly little head. Yeast bananas, slight acid and cloves and malty caramel.

Bottle from Liquor Junction, N. Reading. Deeply hazy light brown (pale root beer), ample creamy head with fair retention and spotty lacing. Ample brown bread, milder fig, dark fruit, clove, yeast. Taste is strong raisin/dark fruit, toffee, late mild overripe banana, clove. Smooth, soft carbonation, finish as taste. Good complexity and strength. Not surprising, when you've had over 500 years to perfect your recipe, nice!

16.9 oz bottle shared by tfontana, thank you Tom. Aroma is very soft German yeast, with plenty of rich, toffee, like malt flavor falls through, with a very mild hint of clove. Slightly spicy finish. Been a LONG time since a had a German Dunkleweizen!

Bottle. This is a really nice beer. Hazy brown in color with a large three finger, light tan head. Aroma is fruity with notes of roasted grains. Taste is banana with very light chocolate and spice. Good stuff.

Aroma of malt, lots of banana, yeast, some caramel, clove. Flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth finish. Almost no bitterness. Smooth Dunkelweizen, I really enjoyed this one.
