This dark Weissbier retains its aromatic character thanks to the select choice of Hallertau aroma hops and highest quality Bavarian wheat and dark barley malts.

Its characteristic, distinctive maroon colour is a feast for the eyes. Then there’s the opalescence and fine structure of the yeast turbidity. The perfect complement is provided by the very creamy, fine pored head. This dark Weissbier from the Holy Mountain will delight connoisseurs with a harmonious interplay of fruity odours, above all ripe bananas and pineapple, with undertones of caramel and cocoa.

Andechser Weissbier Dunkel teases the tongue with a delicate tanginess carried by a round, soft body. A light caramel sweetness harmonises well with the fine hoppy bitterness. It concludes on a soft and refreshing note (original extract: 12.5%, abv: 5.0%).

500ml bottle. Chalky off-white head, fluffy. Some oddball floaties inside the caramel brown unfiltered body. Mellow doughy brown chocolate and hefe-yeast aroma. Medium bodied, really clean and drinkable for the style. Doesn’t really scream fresh, would love to have this at the brewery. Solid beer nonetheless, way better than most US examples.

From the bottle at a hotel in Herrsching. Aroma is yeasty, bubblegum, some maltiness shining through, bananas are not so strong, but cloves. Great yeastiness in the taste and some darker malts. A bit of a roastedness that is maybe too much for my Dunkelweizen palate. Breadiness as well. Perfect silky Weizen mouthfeel. Very good, but there’s Dunkelweizen I like more. (EDIT: The first bottle of this I had did not impress me, but the next few I’ve had locally were great) First rating: Dark black-amber color with big white head. Very dark for a Dunkelweizen. Lots of caramel, molasses. Taste is bubblegum, sweet, dark malts. Smooth mouthfeel, but really disappointing for a Dunkelweizen by Andechser...

Banana, graham cracker, chocolate aroma. Clear brown, not super dark, thick tan head. Caramel and graham cracker flavor, tangy lemon accents. Light body, soft carbonation. A bit lacking in richness, and a little too tangy. I wish it tasted like it smells.

Pours a light brown color, topped with a decent cream colored head. Mild malty aroma, some nice notes of chocolate and caramel. Starts sweet and slightyl roasty later on, finishes with an easy bitterness and caramel notes. Not too bad, yet nothing really special.

Wie das helle Weißbier ist das Dunkle schön weich. Die tollen Nelken-Bananenaromen werden von einer leichten röstigen Malzigkeit ergänzt. Nicht zu trocken, schön karamellig-dunkel und sehr weich süffig.

Draft at the Great British Beer Festival 2014, Day 1 - London. Pours cloudy brown with a creamy tan head. Sweet beer, with lots of toasted wheat, candi sugar, slight dry and ripe banana. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Toasted sugar on the finish, further wheat bread. Very decent.
