Keg at GBBF'23, day one, 01/08/23. Dark mahogany brown topped with a dirty tan head. Nose is charr, roasted tones, dates, raisins, modest coffee bean. Taste comprises earthy roast, cocoa sprinkle, charr, dark malts, dried fruit rinds, light coffee notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close. Tidy enough stout.

Bottle 33 cl. Very fizzy pour! Opaque black with a frothy, beige head. Very roasty nose, almost ashy. Very fizzy mouthfeel, as could be expected from the pour. Again dry and almost dusty roastiness with a hint of licorice. Little bitterness. Way too burpy to be really pleasant. 030822

330 ml bottle, from Kalø Whisky & Vin, Denmark. ABV is 5.0%. Black colour, huge and rocky beige head, takes a long time to settle. Aroma of roast malts and coffee, hints of dark chocolate and unsweetened liquorice. Dry flavour with the same elements as the aroma, earthy hops and more roast malts in the medium bitter finish.

330ml bottle from Sophie's Beer Store: BB 31st Dec 2021. Drank at home on 21st Mar 2021. Poured into a thistle shaped glass, it looked good; black bodied with a decent beige topping. Malty and semi-sweet with a slight hop bitterness late on, coffee and chocolate notes dominate the nose and taste. Body a tad thin for a Stout, but overall it's fine.

330ml bottle. Pours pitch black, good frothy pale beige head. Aroma has prominent dried dark fruits, figs. Taste presents a nice soft roasted malt introduction, smooth on the palate with dried dark fruits coming into view. Lovely Scottish stout this.

Draft. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, nuts, coffee, and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, nuts, coffee, and a bit of smoke, leading to a bitter finish.

Kräftiger, röstig bitterer Start. Milder Hopfen, die Röstnoten bleiben intensiv, Espresso, vollmundig. Dunkles Brot, langer Nachhall. 10/11/11/11//11
