Forget about the car companies, this is the original hybrid. A cross between a Scotch Ale, an India Pale Ale and an American Brown, Indian Brown is well-hopped and malty at the same time (It's magical!).
The beer has characteristics of each style that inspired it: the color of an American Brown, the caramel notes of a Scotch Ale, and the hopping regimen of an India Pale Ale. We dry-hop the Indian Brown in a similar fashion to our 60 Minute IPA and 90 Minute IPA. This beer is brewed with Aromatic barley and organic brown sugar.
Indian Brown is available year-round, so you should be able to find it at fine retailers and restaurants that carry our other year-round beers. Don't see it? Ask! Most great retailers would love to hear from you.

Intersting beer, kinda like an mix of an IPA with a brown ale. Very hoppy, but also very malty. THe aroma is quite hoppy, but the sweet malt presence is very evident. The flavour is roasty, and malt, with a good dose of hops in the finish for bitterness..........very interesting.

Rated June 2006. Poured clear dark ruby red with a thin off white head. The aroma seems all malts. It smells sugary sweet along with roasted malt aroma. No hint of hop in the nose. Too bad. The taste is heavy on the malts and very light on the hops. Very much like a Scotch Ale. The finish does come with a nice even hop bitterness that cuts the sweet malt and sugars. Pretty good. I’d prefer a bit more hop presence to help keep up with the dominating roasted malt flavor.

Pours very dark brown. Small, lightly tanned head. Smell is creamy, caramel, dark fruits, toffee, tad sweet. Hops are very mild to even hidden. Taste is full, rather sweet, chocolaty, toffee, mild dark fruits. Caramel. Hops are very mild. Perhaps this bottle isn't the most fresh one, but hops are nowhere to be found in terms of aroma, and bitterness is very, very restrained.
