2016 vintage 330ml bottle brought in a Dornbirn supermarket in June 2017 on my multi country road trip, cellared since in Jersey. Pours a clear brown with a small white head. Aromas & tastes of caramel, brown sugar, raisins, toffee, dark fruits, bread, nuts, hints of syrup & hints of alcohol. Medium body. Well balanced throughout. Long lingering sweet mildly alcohol finish. Very enjoyable & far better than I expected with the high alcohol reasonably well hidden

A subtle and generous beer, so malty and smooth at the palate, your bread in cup for the morning with notes of toffee, plum, a bit smocked and rich sensation in the mouth, a doppel bock of first quality. 26.12.2020

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Boozy and quite sweet with a sweet malty aroma. Caramel, alcohol, sugary dried fruits. Long sweet boozy aftertaste, sticky mouthfeel. Medium to full body. I can sip on this but it's way, way too sweet.

# 4500; 1/2025. Vintage 2022. Cherry, caramel, woody, raisins aroma. Clear copper body; almost no head quickly disappeared, beige colored. Dried cherry, woody, caramel, strong alcohol warmth, residual sweetness, raisins, dried apricot. Very good doppelbock, very strong; slightly too sweet and alcoholy. 0,33 l, bottle, supermarket, Tübingen (Swabia, Germany).

This is my final rating on RateBeer, culminating in my 4000th rating. I found this a fitting end to my time on RB as I bought this bottle around the time I started rating on RB at the end of 2013 and kept it since then. Goodbye RateBeer, this site always had its difficulties and it got sold to the enemy, but I still always enjoyed it here, I made long-time friends and learned so much about beer because of this site and that is invaluable! (I will continue rating on Brewver.com with the same user name.) So this is a vintage 2012 bottle, 12 years old! Dark copper body, with almost no head. Aroma of oxidation, toffee, chocolate, soy sauce, molasses, some dried fruits. Tastes much nicer, less oxidized, rich, sweet and dense, a bit toasty. Oily mouthfeel, with little carbonation. Finishes warm, sweet, toasty, a bit fruity, with cocoa, some soy sauce, slight molasses. Quite oxidized nose, but the taste is not off-putting at all. Still a really enjoyable sipper, with a dense, sweet character. Score: 6 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 15
