Old rating from 2017 - 330ml bottle, pours black with a off white head. Aromas & tastes of chocolate, raisins, dark fruits, bread & sweet malt. Moderate body. Dry milky finish

Bottle. Nose is chocolate, coffee, toffee, orange. Palate is watery chocolate, bread, toast, bitter orange finish. Didn't age great, but still drinkable.

Bottle from Cork & Cask. Black body with no head or lacing. Aroma of milk chocolate and fruit pudding. Flavour of fig and chocolate. Thin body with a flat, watery texture. Not Alechemy’s finest effort - it’s thinner than water and tastes pretty one dimensional.

Bottle from Alesela. It pours black with a small beige head. The aroma is quite sweet, milk chocolate, caramel, mars bar and some coffee. The taste is bitter, roasted malt, earthy, charred wood, chewy, peppery spice, wood, coffee ground and cacao with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit lacklustre overall.

Cask, one-third pint at Six Degrees North. Coal black body. Dotted spots on the glass from a fading fawn-coloured head. Aroma of chocolate, semi-dry. Taste of dark dough, lactose and chocolate. Sweet and dry ending. Soft in the mouth. Medium bodied. Just alright, rather sweet though (Aberdeen 19.04.2016).

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at the Hope & Anchor, Bristol 1/4/2016. Dark brown with next to no head. Sweet milk chocolate and toasty malts, before a gentle finish. Fine.

Cask at Carriers Quarter, Edinburgh-Leith, Sunday 20th March 2016 in the company of Dad and Barry. Pours dark, dark brown with a reddy glint and a creamy textured off-white head. Soft mouthfeel, touch of milkiness, light roasty. Fine. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

On cask at Carter’s. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - ovaltine and general sweet maltiness. Taste - creamy malt and light chocolate. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - good solid stout.

Cask at the Blue Blazer. Pours clear dark brown, red chinks, with a thick tan head. Aromas of meaty roast, liquorice. Taste is light roast, meaty again. Creamy texture, light sweet, but thin finish.
