Bomber - label says 9% abv - more like a Belgian stout than anything else - I really dispute this being listed as a saison - anyway - nose of light tartness, smoke, plum and other dark fruit, cherry skins, dough - quite a nice depth to the nose - texture is a little watery - flavor is kind of sweet, a little alcoholic - somewhat imperial stout-ish in character - chocolate, dark fruit - some spicy phenolics late - finish has some coffee-ish roast and is fairly spicy - it’s okay, but I’ve really got to ignore the fact that it is supposed to be a "saison."

650 ml bottle, purchased at Binny’s Lincoln Park location for a decent price. Pitch black color with small bubbly head, aroma is roasted malts, weak chocolate and spicy yeast with notes of dried hay.

Flavor is like a porter made with Belgian yeast. Good amount of roast throughout with the rustic farmhouse yeast giving a spicy after taste. Pretty decent balance of roasted, ashy, sweet malts and yeast. The texture is dry and spicy. This hybrid "black " saison normally is a miss for me. But this brew is different. The yeast and malt has married well together. Really enjoy all the brews I have sample from this brewery. Hope I can try more in the future, keep up the top notch brewing!

A deep dark saison with a thin brown head. In aroma, smooth bitter chocolate with good coffee notes, grassy hops, curacao, wood extract, light alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice bitter chocolate with good grassy hops, bitter herbs, coffee grind, and light alcohol warmth. On tap at Kuma’s Too.
