One of Michael Jackson’s 500 Classic Brews. Carnegie Porter was brewed for the first time in 1836 and tastes the same today as it did then. Carnegie Porter has a creamy head with a scent of coffee. Its sweet and well rounded flavor is balanced by the bitterness of the hops. Storage helps the flavor mature and enhances its harmony.

[33cl bottle on a Baltic cruise.] An opaque peaty brown pour with a tight beige head; aroma of well toasted grains; rather thin with a bitter roasted coffee taste; and a dry finish. A pleasant porter.

Bottle from Systemboalget. Light smoked smell. Nice with a lasting foam. Genuinely very tasty with a rich chocolate taste. Surprisingly solid offering from Carlsberg!

No date on the bottle.
It pours very dark brown with reddish highlights, with an inch of tannish foam.
It smells of roasted malt, chocolate, hints of coffee. There's some sweet notes along with the roasted malt that could be from the chocolate.
Nice roasted malt flavours, chocolate, bit of coffee, some sweet notes but overall, it has a solid bitterness.
Aa the beer warms, the flavours become more bold, pretty impressive for only 5.5% abv.
The mouthfeel just creeps into medium territory.
I've always enjoyed this in the distant past, I'm glad that I can again.

Many thanks for this beer to Nisse666. W smaku kawowe, mocno palone, czekolada gozka. Ogolnie fajne choc to typowy baltycki porter specjalnie niczym sie nie wyrozniajace.

Pours black with thin white lacing. Aroma of chocolate malt and nutty elements. Taste is entirely flat, watery malt base, hazelnut and burnt malt notes. Palate has nuts and espresso on the nose, burnt chocolate. Good.
