Udgangspunktet for First Frontier er at skabe en IPA ”the american way”, uden en kvalm sød maltprofil, der fjerner fokus fra det IPA egentlig handler om, nemlig potent og aromatisk humle. Resultatet er en dejlig tør, frisk og bitter IPA, der er hårdt tørhumlet med de tre amerikanske humlesorter Warrior, Simcoe og Centennial, som giver noter af citrus, fersken og grapefrugt. Tilføjet er en smule karamel malt, der blot er tilstede for at tøjle og afbalancere alkoholen, der befinder sig på 7,1%.

Aroma of tropical fruits, orange, mango, grass, fresh hops. Flavour is light sweet with a nicely strong bitter finish. Fantastic IPA, just the way I like ’em: fruity and bitter.

Backlog September 2011. Unclear orange body under a dense off-white head. Nice, fruity hop aroma, citric fruit, peaches and some malt. Taste has some sweet malt, a touch of caramel, lots of fruity hops like peaches, grapefruit and hint of pine. Nice bitterness. Medium body with fruity, bitter aftertaste. Nice IPA.

Can from the monthly club, new batch brewed at To Øl City. Orangey brown haze, nice head, nose is resinous dank pine and citrusy with mandarine orange notes. The flavor is well balanced with citrus, pine, and a hint of sweetness to balance it. Very smooth, big bitterness; moderate body. Danger: super quaffable, session drinkability but with 7%.

Z pivoteky na 7 schode. Vona chmelova ale nie moc silna. Medova kalna farba bol vidiet aj kal. Husta pena ktorw sa flho drzala. Chut silna vyrazna horka az stiplava. Na konci sa dlho drzi.

Bottle. Pours a hazy light yellow-golden orange with a medium shortlasting white head. Aromas of mango, orange peel, slight grass, slight booze, pretty grassy hops aswell. Taste is pretty hoppy, grass, earth, orange peel, citrus.

Keg at Craft. Cloudy orange colour with small white head. Aroma is mango, b.o. hops, bitterness, pine. Taste is quite fruity, orange grapefruit, lots of bitterness and a touch of sweetness too. More boozy tasting than percentage suggests. Malty finish. Quite nice.
