Bottle: Poured a pale yellow color lager with a small pure white foamy head. Aroma of adjunct is not present as opposed to most beers from this brewery. Taste is quite bland with light cereal notes and a semi-sweet finish. Body is thin with good carbonation. This is another bland offering form this brewery though it is superior to the original.

Billed as 100% malt brewed. All this means is that they haven’t added cornstarch like they do with regular Tusker. 12oz bottle pours a totally clear, very faint yellow with a foamy head that fades fast. Nose is vaguely sweet, a little grass, some faint yeast, a little honey, white bread. Flavor is fine, lightly sweet but not sugary, some light bread, some light yeast. Fairly straight forward. Watery finish. I like that this doesn’t have an artificial sweetness to it, but that said, there’s isn’t alot happening anyway.

Bottle at a restaurant in Nairobi. Has a sweet scent of hops and sugar, a little alcohol and some maltiness. Looks like any other light lager, nothing special there. Has a refreshing taste of hops, and though quite watery, has a dry finish. It’s a decent lager but not exciting by any stretch.

12 oz bottle from Kenya courtesy of Garthicus! Thanks Al! MFG 23 Aug 07; Nose of grassy grainwith slightly sweet malt notes; translucent gold with a medium white head; flavor has sweet maltiness mixed with a light to medium bit of hop bitterness that fades in and out, but is definately present. Interesting beer! Not bad for a pale lager. Actually some hops, unlike the BMC pale lagers!

Bottle. (as Malt Lager) Clear, a bit pale golden pour, with a white head. Malty aroma with some butterscotch and a fruity hint. Butterscotch and fruit notes in the flavor. Medium to thin body, and a relatively bitter finish. Decent but boring, thin, but not bad. (070625)

(Bottle 30 cl) Comes as "Tusker Malt Lager". Nice fully golden colour, fair off-white but dissipating head. Floral, hoppy aroma. Flavour is dominated by sweet malt - quite straight and pleasant. A very decent brew. Thanks for this Dorte - greatly appreciated. 140106
