Bottle at home, courtesy of HenrikSoegaard who had this in his cellar for over 8 years if I remember correctly?! Black pour with a beige head. Nose is dark chocolate, coffee, cocoa powder, dried fruits and molasses. Taste is slightly sweet upfront, showing malty notes of chocolate, coffee, earthy notes, cocoa powder, molasses and prunes and other dried fruits. It then turns slightly bitter (the roasted kind) and the finish is dry. There’s a faint hint of oxidization too, but it’s not too prominent. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Good beer which and it shows its age, which provide additional layers, so thanks a lot Henrik for pulling this one from your cellar!

Bottle at home. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, touch of smoke, tobacco, dark chocolate, charcoal, touch of liquorice. Flavour is light sweet with good roasty bitter finish. Body is medium. A bit thinner than I expected, but I dig the strongly roasted aroma with a subtle touch of smoke. Good roasty bitterness. Tasty Porter, this must have been a true jaw-dropper back in the days.

Pours pitch black with a mocha coloured head that leaves a small layer and good lacing. Aroma's of smoked malts, sweetish, roasted, coffee. Retronasal it's smokey, roasty, sweetish, light licorice. Flavour is moderate sweet and light roasty bitter. Medium bodied. Proper carbonation. Long finish with smokiness, roast, ending with firm bitterness. Two great beers in a row from this brewery.
