Bottle shared at the Chris & Ruth pre GBBF shindig tasting 2016 - London. Cheers! Pours clear gold with a frothy, white head. The nose holds crackery pale malts, old orange and faded pine. Light sweet flavour with bland piney bitterness, watery malts. Light bodied with average carbonation. Bland finish, with some leafy hops, pine needles. Like weak hop tea. Sub par.

You can taste the free range water here like a dose of hipster PR. Some very light pine, and more water. Free range water. Perhaps the water runs too freely here, in fact. Very light malt, certainly not quite risk or dare. Hazy orange pour with good pillow of head. Light bitter finish. Sessionable but boring. Bottle from Total Wine.

Draft: Tangerine, grapefruit subtle fingernail coating. Murky amber, medium yellow head with brown sediment "dusting" that looks like nutmeg, silty glass coating. Yeast, grapefruit. Malt finish. Full body, soft carbonation.

Here’s the thing: if you like Pacman yeast, you’re pretty much good with Rogue’s entire catalog of ales. I am, so whoopee. 4-Hop feels like a primer on how yeast affects a beer’s taste; yeah, we’ve got another session IPA here, and I’m sure Rogue’s super-special house hop varieties play a role, but they all bleed into the yeasty, caramel-apple Pacman soul, and it works well. Right on, Rogue.

This is true quality. Best Sweet Water and Founders. Surprising from Rogue, they're usually disappointing.

(bottle, 35.5cl) Hazy, golden colour with a medium-sized and slightly off-white foamy head. Fruity, flowery and slightly piney hoppy aroma with notes of lemon, grapefruit and pineapples, accompanied by a mildly malty backbone. Bitter flavour, light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Bone-dry, mildly malty base with bready accents and fruity, piney and earthy hop flavours, lingering into the dry and hop bitter finish. Finally a bit harsh, but nevertheless pleasantly hoppy. 09.XI.16

Bottle. Hazy orange color with white head. Aroma is orange, piney, some tropical fruits, caramel, toasted malts. Taste is more piney hops, bitter orange and a toasted malt body, with an interesting spicy bread character. Medium carboation. Not bad, it has an interesting spiciness, and it has lots of flavour for this low ABV!

12oz bottle pours a hazy orange with some lacing, soapy white head. Nose is OK, nose has a lot of citrus peel, some potpourri heavy orange, some honey. Flavor is heavier with pine, plenty of orange though, dried herbs, mild grist. Finishes a bit tannic.

Bottle split at Chris & Ruth’s pre GBBF Shindig, 07/08/16. Very lightly hazed golden blonde with a decent off white head. Nose is pine needle, orange pith, straw, light spruce tips, toasted grains. Taste comprises grapefruit, orange rinds, light pine tingle, soft bread, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with grassy hop bitterness. Decent enough session gear.

Bottle from Liberty on Commercial, Vancouver
Cloudy golden color, small head. Strong cereal character, very dry, with good resiny and piney hops; very nice, as far as a Session IPA can go.
