Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass very dark, almost black, huge head. Starts intense malty, modest alcoholic, fine spicy like christmas spices. Also some chocolate and caramel notes. Warming and well balanced finish, some woody notes, still spicy. Great beer!

Bottled. A hazy brown beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with ntoes of malt, caramel, and alcohol, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle: Hazy, ruby-amber coloured, some floaties visible, big and stable fluffy off-white head; fruity and dry caramelly nose, wanut-oil detectable; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, relatively soft; slightly lingering chocolatey and fruity finish with a light acidity underneath. O.K, but I’ve already sampled better beers of De Molen.........

0,75 l. bottle from Kihoskh, Copenhagen. Brewed in 2010. Clear dark red-brown colour with a big, beige foamy head, that fades slowly. A powerfull aroma of yeast, sweet malts, caramel and weak notes of cinnamon. Somewhat oliy texture, soft carbonation. The high alcohol % is present, especially in the finish, were the alcohol leaves an almost burning sensation on the palate. The finish is abrupt dispite the high abv. Less alcohol please! (hmm...) Considering the hefty price tag on this bottle, I am a bit disappointed - its a nice beer but no WOW-experience.

75 cl bottle from De Bierkoning. Color is dark brown with thick beige lasting head. Aroma’s of caramel, brown sugar, red fruit, some alcohol. Flavor is sweet & fruity. Strong alcohol feel, warms the throat & tongue. Medium bodied. Interestingly there’s some ash & peat in the finish.

(bottle, 75cl) Unclear, dark amber to brown colour with a beige and tall foamy head. Yeasty, sweet and mildly roasty malty aroma with leather and herbal, also slightly subtle fruity hops. Sweet-bitter flavour, full bodied with a soft carbonation. Robust dark, moderately roast-malty taste with notes of leather, dark fruits/berries and hints of cacao; moderately sweet and toasty bitter malty taste with present herbal and subtle fruity hops, accompanied by a touch of alcohol. 18.V.11

Bottle 750ml.Clear medium to dark brown amber colour with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, sugar, alcohol, light berries. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet, light light acidic and moderate bitter with a long duration, chocolate, dusty, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to light lively. Not the best De Molen beer, high alcohol and no benefit the normal Borefts Bock works better ! [20110518]
