Golden beer with intense citric aromas and strong hoppy bitterness.
During the 90´s, craft brewers in California started making beers using the strongest American hops resulting in the Imperial India Pale Ale. At La Brü we created this recipe to celebrate our Master Brewer`s birthday.

A golden DIPA with a very thin white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with resinous piney hops, light cereals, grapefruit pulp, pleasant. In mouth, a nice crisp biscuit malt loads of resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light cereals, pleasant. On tap at Sanctuario.

Tasting at SF, Vancouver
Cloudy amber color. Malt aroma, honey, roseflower, armpit. Grainy, husky, stale (cardboard), with old hops, some candied orange, and some vegetable bitterness in the final.
Bad.

Light tan, no head. On the nose, definitely, quite spicy in the hop note. Sweet malts that are indistinct, with a hit of bitterness, some cheesy hops. Meh.

Hazy amber, rich bubbly head. Aroma is a bit chocolatey, with chewy malts and a dash of leafy hop. Rich crystal malt, chewy and earthy with a soft leafy hop character. Ok.

Bottle - Perfumy, flowery and caramel. Clearish dark gold with a small white head. Bitter and a touch of that rose flowery note. Bitter and not great.

355mL bottle, pours a hazy orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out earthy hops and biscuity malt. Flavour is pretty cardboardy, with earthy hops and bready malt. Tastes like the hops are pretty stale, even though I'm assured this is quite fresh. Inoffensive, but pretty flat and offensive.

Citrus and some peel. Candied apple and plenty of booze. Decent for style. Orange pour with good head and lacing. Light bittersweet finish. Bottle at el Estadio.

Bottle shared at Garvie’s. Pours clear copper-gold with a creamy off-white head. Curious aroma, with some citrus peel, perhaps some fusel alcohols, pine. Medium sweet flavor, resinous, with rich bread and caramel, some pine, orange rind. Medium bodied, chewy and oily, with fine carbonation. Warming and resinous on the finish with more oily hops, gooey pine, ripe orange, some rind. Not bad.
