Bottle from Cornelius - a £2.00 bargain for a best before July 2014 bottle. Hazy amber body with a thick off-white head. Steady carbonation. Excellent lacing. Aroma of mashed strawberry, overripe mango, pineapple, lime and a hint of onion. Flavour brings more mango, herbs, orange and a green apple finish. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. If Carlsberg did out-of-date beers... Well, they might be good, but not as good as this.

From a 500ml bottle on 13/5/2014. Pours a very deep golden with a small head. Has a quite sharp hop aroma with quite a bit of resin and pine. The sharpness is there in the flavour as well. There’s some sweet fruit and caramel in the mix, but the bittering, lingering hops hold sway. It has a slightly strange metallic taste to it. A couple of other reviewers talk about smelling/tasting some onion, and I kinda get that. It has a medium body and quite lively carbonation. I’m not sure about this one. It has a lot of personality but it just doesn’t hit the bullseye. Quite different and definitely worth a try - nice but not top flight.

Bottle at The Southern, shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear gold, thick white head. Aromas are very strong - onion and hop resin. Pine and tropical fruit on the taste, some caramel malt backbone. Crisp finish. Lovely stuff.

On tap at the Southern. Appearance - Nose - pungent fruit like almost going off. Lots of resin and earthiness. Some tangerine. Taste - loads of tangerine some spicy earth vegetables. Maybe parsnips. Palate - medium bodied with a tangy texture and a relatively fresh finish. Slightly aggressive carbonation. Overall - good ipa that verges on imperial. Overall -

Bottle from Beermoth, Manchester. Lightly hazy, copper colour. Film of white head. Toffee. Fresh mint. Light bubblegum (not to any detriment). Taste is sugary sweet, with the mintiness still in evidence. Fairly full bodied, with some ripe fruitiness. Light, fresh, bitterness provides balance. Nice beer, but can’t give it a massive score, on account of the fact I could have bought 2 Kernel IPA’s for the same money!
