Seven is the most Belgian-esque of the numbered beers, where the house yeast is fully expressed with a big fruitiness while the hops provide spicy and herbal elements. The beer has some heft mid-palate but finishes dry.

Notes from November 2012 Bottle from LetsPour dot com. Ommegang chalice. Already well into strong ale season, a lonely saison walks in out of the cold. Cloudy, yellow orange, turning mustard on the second pour, as it gets stirred up w/ sediment. Hollow, egg white head. Chalky, saline, menthol scent. Bready yeast. Muted. Taste is Incredibly chalky & stiff straight out the fridge. Letting the bottle sweat turns the beverage doughy sweet. Not really enjoying that either. Frothy. Begins to feel quite thick. Envelope glue bitterness, some leafy greens. Battery acid & flour finish. Bland yeast. A short review just because I'm so disappointed. Hope this year's SN Celebration can cheer me up.

Bottle. Shakespeare’s, Sheffield. Hazy, light amber. Lots of floaters. Thin, messy, dense, lasting, white head. Nose comes across like an old IPA. Rich, toasty malts, with fruity, fusty, jammy hop. Definitely an almond, barley wine thing going on. Taste is sweet, with some fusty, jammy, hop bitterness. Pretty full body. Soft carbonation. Finishes a bit chewy and rich. Glad I chilled this to the bone, as it’s got potential to be cloying and sticky, I reckon. As it is, it’s quite decent.

Bottle: Poured a hazy bright blonde color ale with a nice large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of floral rustic malt notes with light spicy yeast undertones is just about perfect for the style. Taste is a wonderful mix of floral rustic notes with some spicy yeast undertones and light hay notes with limited residual sugar notes. Body is full for style with the right amount of carbonation. Super good drinkability with great level of complexity. Excellent choice of yeast strain for this beer.

Draught at KØ16. Malty aroma, almost caramelly. Clear dark golden colour. Good stable white head. The flavour is malty with a distinct bitterness. Sweetish. Tastes more of tripel than saison to me.

Sample at Tap House Grill. Hazy orange-gold color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops, yeast and malt. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, herbal yeast and malt, The finish is fruity with a moderately bitter hoppy aftertaste. Above average overall.
